Traffic exchanges are a tool that facilitate social networking, because it gives you a chance to view some other people's websites, and in return they visit yours. A traffic Exchange is basically a club where people with websites gather, but instead of visiting each others profiles directly, they allow the traffic exchange script to introduce you to random people's profiles.

The profiles you will see are often blogs or splash pages for business opportunities.

If you are the sort of person that eats their lunch at your PC (I bet there are some of you that do!) having a traffic exchange as a starter page, is a way to see a few random websites while tucking into your sandwiches :-)

on traffic exchanges you are usually allowed to contact your downline and offer them support/ recommend other programs they maybe interested in.

Social networks and Traffic Exchanges.

When surfing on traffic exchanges things to look out for are Facebook Fan pages, google connect and facebook connect, guest books, mybloglog or any other interactive tools on the site that means you can contact that person, personally at a later date. If they have left an e-mail or twitter address you can then catch up with them later on other networks.

By opting into each others social networking streams you are initiating a two way conversation.

It is worth stressing that some people don't like to be contacted even after they have joined up with you on several social networks, if I have their e-mail address, I normally import it into plaxo then put a note that they don't like to be contacted with offers - or I type a note about what they have opted into.

I recommend you focus on a selection of these exchanges, that suit you best (because they are in the 3CM system) I also use trafficG and mermaid traffic (a small exchange. that run 100's of traffic exchanges to fit in with your niche)


I also recommend you set up splash pages, that are quick to load (not everyone in the world has fast Internet speeds yet!) - think International, remember some people might still be on slow connections or dial-up or not able to view youtube videos or twitter in their country. So having an easy way for anyone to sign up and connect with you is something to consider.
